이렇게 하여 우리의 봄소풍 일행은 최종적으로 그 인원이 확정되었다. 청구회 6명, 청맥회 여학생 8명, 육사생도 6명 그리고 나 이렇게 21명이었다. 그리고 각 참가 그룹별 책임을 분담하였다. 책임이란 소풍에 필요한 점심과 간식에 소요되는 최소한의 준비였는데 이 분담도 참가신청 이전에 이미 참가의 조건으로 제시된 바 있었기 때문에 그것을 다시 상기시켜 잊지 말도록 하는 것일 뿐이었다. 여학생들은 점심식사에 필요한 주식과 부식의 준비, 육사 생도들은 과자와 간식의 준비, 그리고 청구회 꼬마들은 주빈답게 아이스케이크 30개 값을 지참하는 정도로 그저 체면 유지(?)에 그친 것이었다. At half past ten a. m. Sunday, a day in June, 1967, we agreed to meet at Su-yoo Ri bus terminal. I met my little friends in front of Chung-Gu Primary School at the entrance of Mun-hwa Dong, and transferred buses twice before getting to the bus terminal at Su-yoo Ri. 먼저 와서 기다리고 있던 여학생들과 사관생도들은 우리의 도착으로 비로소 그들이 오늘의 동행인들이라는 사실을 알게 되었다. 나는 먼저 그들의 책임 준비물을 점검하였다. 초과달성이었다. 주 부식을 분담하였던 여학생들에게서 딸기, 과자 등속이 지참되고 있었는가 하면 생도들의 짐 속에는 '쌀'까지 들어 있었다. 일요일에 등산 또는 소풍가는 생도는 학교로부터 쌀의 정량을 지급받을 수 있기 때문에 악착같이(?) 타왔단다.
